How is it the middle of August?

I cannot believe how quickly time is passing this summer. In a way, that makes me happy, as it means that temperatures are slowly returning to "normal" (i.e. walking outside no longer feels like traversing one of Dante's circles of hell). The down side to the speed at which the summer is passing however means that the marathon is quickly approaching. I am finally cracking down and feeling a bit better about my chances to complete this thing, but with only 56 days to go until Chi-Thon version 2.0 I really have no more time to play around...

To that end, I got in a glorious 16 miler today. Granted, I am exhausted and unwilling to move from the couch now that I am back home. Today was significantly cooler in Chicago and the humidity that has plagued the past week seems to have broken. There was also a delightful breeze, which is always nice! In fact, my friend A and I were both a bit cold as we made our way to where our running group meets in LP. I would take starting a run cold over the blazing heat we had any day!

This coming week - I hope to be pretty serious about my running. It is a little more difficult as of late as I have recently started dating a new boy. Given the time constraints we both have, I have to plan a little better in order to get my run in everyday! Here is what I am hoping to do this week:

Sunday - Rest Day/busy day with a fun and still super secret project
Monday - 6 miles am/Vinyasa Yoga pm
Tuesday - Spin Class pm
Wednesday - Running group or 7 miles
Thursday - Swimming am
Friday - 5 miles am
Saturday - 17 mile long run

Let's see if I can get this done!

xoxo,
E
